Introduction to Literacy Shifts in Content Areas
DESCRIPTION:
Provides participants with an introduction to the key shifts required by the CCSS for literacy development in content areas. This session is designed for teachers in all content areas who work with Title I students, including: history, social studies, science, technical subjects, and electives. The session provides actionable strategies to help struggling learners increase their reading comprehension. Participants will have discussions about processing the shifts, naming the literacy standards for subject areas.
