Analyzing Data to Differentiate

DESCRIPTION:

Participants get their “hands dirty” digging into data and learning ways to incorporate assessment data into their instructional planning for Title I students.


Session A - Learn various types of data and how to manage the data flow in alignment with student needs. Analyze data to target the differentiated levels of student achievement and student needs. 


Session B -­ Based on classroom data findings from multiple sources, participants will make both short term and long term plans to differentiate instruction.

OBJECTIVES:

Essential Question – How does data drive instructional choices?

  • Difference between formative and summative data and other informal data
  • How to look at data results and formulate definitive areas of need and strengths
  • Using data to drive differentiated instruction
  • Differentiation based on data

PARTICIPANTS:  Up to 30

SESSION LENGTH:  Session A = 2 hours; Session B = 2 hours

PREREQUISITES:  Session A Required for Session B
