To deliver critical life and 21st century skills, Montage Education provides SkillBott, a comprehensive curriculum, delivered in the classroom or online, that teaches those skills required to obtain employment and build a successful career.
Program Components
Educators and business leaders have concluded that although today’s students are usually well prepared academically and technically, many lack the soft skills or workplace competencies that allow them to make the successful transition from the classroom to the workplace.
Research shows that 80% of those fired from their jobs are not let go for a lack of technical job skills, but for problems with professional conduct, the inability to get along with co-workers, dishonesty, or a lack of results-oriented behavior.
The purpose of SkillBott is to teach students to identify and navigate political systems in the workplace to establish strategic alliances and help them do their jobs, attain resources, gain supporters, and block out those who will be a detriment to them. SkillBott will help close this gap between academic aptitude and successful workplace behavior.
Life Skills
Life Skills, also called soft skills, are the attributes and behaviors of employees that make them an asset to their employer. SkillBott focuses on 44 key skills with an emphasis on:
